Transfer of members between Prospect branches
Recently we have discovered there is a glitch in the online membership status process in Prospect. When members of our branches update their work status on-line (e.g. from working for an employer to working as a contractor or self-employed) Prospect automatically changes their branch to a Regional Branch outside our sector, even when the member hasn’t changed their work type or address (and sometimes may still be serving the same employer, in a different status), and has no desire or need to change branches. Where we notice this we try to correct it; however if you change or have changed work status on-line and receive or have received a new branch membership card and don’t want to change branch please contact your branch secretary (listed above on this site) so we can get the situation remedied.
Staying in a CMD branch means you are in our sector of the union. This gives you information and analysis about the IT and telecoms industry and a copy of the sector journal. We also brief members on pension issues, plus employer schemes, such as BT, Telefonica, Inmarsat and other companies where we have members
Please note that if you change employer details on-line to a company that has a recognition agreement with Prospect you will be transferred to a branch which deals specifically with that employer.
