The Greater London Co-ordinating Committee (GLCoord) consists of the three union branches of the Communications and Digital (C&D) Sector in Prospect which serve members in the Greater London area.  Annual Revision of Compensation Limits

The annual order for revising compensation awards in Employment Tribunal has been made -

The new amounts will apply to all cases where the dismissal (or event giving rise to the claim) occurs on or after 6 April 2020.

The main rates of compensation are as follows:


Current Limit

Amounts from 6/4/2020

Limit on a week’s pay for the basic award for unfair dismissal and statutory redundancy payments



Maximum basic award



Maximum unfair dismissal Compensatory award (or one year’s gross pay whichever is lower)



Unfair Dismissal additional award for failure to comply with a reinstatement or re-engagement order



Minimum basic award for unfair dismissal on trade union, or health and safety, grounds, or for being an employee representative, etc.



Award for unlawful inducement relating to union membership, union activities, or related to loss of collective bargaining rights



Limit on amount of guarantee payment in respect of one day



The compensation rates are different for Northern Ireland.
